The Children’s Museum of Art collaborated with New York-based developer DDG to create a one-of-kind play space at their new building at 180 East 88th St. In addition to working with the Museum, the developer also commissioned muralist Sean Murtha, who has created many of the backgrounds depicted in the dioramas at American Museum of Natural History, to craft a wildlife mural to be housed in the children’s playroom. His wildlife designs are inspired by the still-remaining pockets of field, forest and salt marsh on the north shore of Long Island where he grew up.
